Brad Adams (28:56):
I think the improvements that–
Brad Adams (09:48):
AlinIQ Insight–
Brad Adams (28:59):
has done for us has really provided more confidence to the technologists that they're not missing something, that they're covering all their bases
Brad Adams (29:56):
and their ability to report out accurate results. And all of that has to do with the fact that we're able to monitor that more closely and have a better understanding of what is actually going on in the chemistry department.
Brad Adams (34:52):
I'm Brad Adams. I'm the lab director for Purcell Municipal Hospital.
Brad Adams (04:36):
We cater to approximately 20,000 people in the area.
Brad Adams (31:49):
We envision our hospital being a regional-type facility, even though we're small.
Brad Adams (09:18):
We brought on
Brad Adams (10:00):
AlinIQ Insight
Brad Adams (09:23):
a few months ago.
Brad Adams (10:45):
I was looking for something because I had CLIA inspection coming up.
Brad Adams (35:35):
We knew that we were under heavy watch as to what the inspectors were looking to see.
Brad Adams (35:53):
The Insight program was very beneficial in helping us to feel confident that what we were providing was quality testing and that would meet all of CLIA's regulations.
Brad Adams (11:39):
Before we had Insight, we would have to go to the analyzers and we would have to look at specifically those areas that I needed information on.
Brad Adams (45:57):
We would have to print out QC logs and have those put in a binder, we'd have to keep up with patients and all of that.
Brad Adams (12:04):
What Insight did was to bring that all together and consolidate that into one source.
Brad Adams (23:13):
It allows us to be more precise on what we are reviewing and the confidence that that information is secure.
Brad Adams (14:04):
The way we were doing it before Insight required us to spend an hour to two hours a day just reviewing that information.
Brad Adams (20:54):
I would say now that we can do that in just a matter of a few minutes, maybe 10 to 15 minutes a day.
Brad Adams (19:14):
Some of the key things that I'm looking for in the app when I go in there is I'm looking at the daily QC, I'm looking at calibrations, making sure the calibrations have been done in appropriate time, making sure that lot numbers that are within date. And also looking at the maintenance process.
Brad Adams (19:43):
And it clearly will show me
Brad Adams (19:47):
who did the maintenance. And that's been very beneficial.
Brad Adams (19:53):
My maintenance is done on the night shift, so I only have a couple of people that I do watch closely
Brad Adams (20:07):
so that allows me to look at that data and be able to determine if we need to make some adjustments or changes in the process.
Taylor Costante (38:08):
Before we had Insight, we had to remember to make sure the maintenance had been done on time, make sure QC was run on time, make sure calibrators were done. With Insight, we're able to see that all on one screen.
Brad Adams (36:47):
CLIA brought in two inspectors.
Brad Adams (37:07):
The comment from the key inspector was that we exceeded her expectations because she had seen a tremendous improvement in the operation of the laboratory here.
Brad Adams (16:08):
To get that passing grade for our staff was tremendous. We put a lot of work into it.
Brad Adams (15:28):
And a lot of that was the fact that we had Insight.
Brad Adams (27:18):
I'm very much involved in going out and meeting with clients and providers on a regular basis.
Brad Adams (27:08):
Insight's
Brad Adams (27:58):
freed up time for me to do that.
Chris Wright (08:11):
Working with Abbott has been a good partnership for Purcell Municipal Hospital.
Chris Wright (09:13):
The reason why we changed from our vendor that we used for quite a while at the old facility was responsiveness. And when we did have issues. It may be several hours before we would hear back from them or even the next day. And we really need to have that responsiveness up front and on the spot.
Brad Adams (32:41):
I would highly recommend Insight to
Brad Adams (33:54):
other lab directors. I can see a real benefit, especially to lab directors that have larger facilities than I do. That consolidation would be even more beneficial to lab directors that have multiple units in their system.
